The University
UC Merced is the first new American research university in the 21st century, with a mission of teaching, research and service. The campus opened September 5, 2005, near Lake Yosemite, California.

 

We have three schools:

 

·         School of Engineering

 

·         School of Natural Sciences

 

·         School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts

 

In addition, our administration is planning two new schools:

 

·         School of Management

 

·         School of Medicine

 

      i.        There is an ever-expanding list of majors, minors and graduate programs taught by more than 90 full-time faculty and dozens of lecturers, who have come to us from some of the world's top-ranked universities.

University of California Santa Barbara

University of California, Santa Cruz

Founded in 1965, the University of California, Santa Cruz enroll about 14,000 students who pursue 56 majors in the schools of arts, engineering, humanities, physical & biological sciences, and social sciences. In 2002, U.S. News and World Report named UC Santa Cruz the 28th best public campus in the country. Faculty who have been contributed to Santa Cruz include 11 members of the National Academy of Sciences, 19 members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and two members of the National Academy of Sciences' Institute of Medicine.
