Squaw Valley USA. Host of the 1960 Winter Olympics, Squaw Valley is a world-class ski destination nestled among six high Sierra peaks - Snow King, KT-22, Squaw Peak, Emigrant, Granite Chief, and Broken Arrow - overlooking Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada. Squaw Valley lures you to 4,000 skiable acres, open-bowl ski terrain, pristine trails, an annual snowpack of 450 inches and California sunshine 300 days a year. With incredible mountain slopes, two half pipes, three terrain parks, inspiring scenery and ski events galore, Squaw is a vacation paradise. Squaw Valley offers exciting night terrain on the 3.2 mile Mountain Run and Riviera Halfpipe.
Alpine Meadows. Recognized for its widely diverse terrain and deep snowfall, Alpine Meadows offers 2,400 acres with six wide-open powderbowls, steep chutes, gentle glades and endless cruisers that make Alpine Meadows the locals' favorite. This family area offers all-inclusive ski and snowboard packages and affordable ski school programs.
Heavenly Ski Resort. Overlooking the south shore of Lake Tahoe, Heavenly Ski Resort is one of North America's largest ski areas. Heavenly features 4,800 acres of ski and snowboard terrain, an expansive network of trails and lifts, 360 inches of snow and breathtaking views of the towering peaks of the Sierra. Heavenly has the longest vertical drop in the Tahoe Basin with a mountain descent five miles long. From long intermediate cruisers to the Mott Canyon chutes, Heavenly offers magnificent terrain, Nordic skiing, high-altitude snow tubing and
snowshoeing.
Kirkwood. Combine 2,300 acres of outstanding ski terrain and some of the nation’s deepest snow and you‘ll understand Kirkwood. The ski resort boasts Tahoe’s top cross country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing and ice skating.
Northstar at Tahoe. Northstar boasts 2,400 skiable acres and a variety of restaurants and activities. Offering particular appeal to families, the ski resort features award-winning children programs, a super pipe, snowshoeing and excellent cross country skiing.
Mt. Rose. Mt. Rose offers Lake Tahoe’s closest skiing to Reno/Tahoe International Airport. Tahoe’s highest base, Mt. Rose ensures excellent snow conditions. Hit the “Chutes” between the east and west bowls.
